Adaku Chidume-Okoro is the Group Managing Director/CEO of GACON Ltd. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s degree in Economics from the Universities of Ife and Lagos respectively.
A product of the UNILAG Post Graduate School, where she bagged a PGD in Computer Science. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and a former member of it’s Governing Council. She has working experience across banking and Finance, spanning through the Central Bank of Nigeria, Afribank PLC, Evergreen Finance & Investment Ltd & Perfecta Investment Limited where she left at the Top Managerial cadre. She has attended numerous Management courses, Seminars & Conferences in Nigeria and overseas.
She is well travelled and exposed, having visited over 25 countries of the world. Adaku has a soft spur for the female Gender, Girl Child and the Youths. She is highly creative, an innovator and an Entrepreneur of repute. Her passion for the Youth and Female Gender led her to establish an Agric Export mentoring platform, where she mentors them on the art of being a successful Non-Oil Agro Exporter.
It is in recognition of these value additions in the Agric value chain & Non-Oil Export Sector that merited her being honoured by the then President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with an award as the “WOMAN EXPORTER OF THE YEAR 2010” (Non-Oil Exports). Adaku Chidume-okoro leverages on her wide local and international business experiences to provide strategic growth for GACON GROUP.
Okoro Chidume is the Company’s Group Executive Chairman and doubles as the Director of Operations.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nigeria and a Post graduate Certificate in Project Analysis and Management. Before going into export business, he worked in the Nigerian Industrial Development Bank as an Industrial Engineer. During this period, he worked on various Agro-allied, textiles and building materials industries projects.
He founded GACON Ltd which grew as a small commodities trader to a market leader in the export of Agricultural commodities in Nigeria.
Okoro Chidume founded many commodity Associations in Nigeria including the National Association of Gum Arabic Producers, Processors and Exporters of Nigeria (NAGAPPEN), the National Shea Products Association of Nigeria (NSAN), the Federation of Agricultural Commodities Association of Nigeria (FACAN) of which he was the Pioneer National President and presently Royal Fathers in Agriculture (ROFINA), in Imo State.
He is a consultant to the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organization and has executed projects for the organization for nearly fifteen years in various countries of the world including Mali, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Kenya, Sudan, Senegal, Chad, Italy and China. He has also served as the National Consultant to the Federal Ministry of Environment on Natural Gum Sector Development and has been a member of the Presidential business delegation to Japan and China during the tenure of President Olusegun Obasanjo. He is widely travelled having visited about 30 countries in five continents of the world.
Obinna is a graduate of Covenant University Ota Nigeria, having graduated in the year 2011 with a Second Class Upper in Sociology.
He thereafter did his NYSC with Ministry of Public Utilities in Imo State. Had a brief stint with Access Bank before joining GACON GROUP as an Executive Assistant to the Board Chairman.
From this position, over the years, he has risen to become the General Manager Purchasing, with the sole responsibility of overseeing the company’s product procurement activities. Obinna is combining his role with his oversea studies.
Mallam Magaji is a year 2004 graduate of Sociology, from Bayero University Kano. He joined GACON LTD workforce in the year 2007 as an Executive Trainee.
He has had the exposure of working at different branches of the Organization as well as vast experience in handling products that the company deals in. The company has sent him on various Managerial Trainings on Purchasing, Processing, Warehousing, Quality control to upscale his skills for effective discharge of his duties.
He is currently the Regional Manager, Kano Regional Operations for GACON LTD based at her Sustainability Processing Centre Bompai Industrial Estate, Kano.
Chinwe Ukamaka Onyejegbu heads the corporate services unit of the Organization.
She oversees the daily activities of the Corporate Services Unit. She is saddled with the responsibility of All Corporate Communications, Internal Management & staff meetings arrangement & organization, Maintenance of active online presence by the company in her social media handle, as well as Technology and online media management. Chinwe also handles the Administration issues of the organization, Property & Asset Management as well as Management of all company’s insurance schemes.
She constantly ensures that her work output is consistent and in line with the vision of the Organization.
Chinwe holds a B.ENG in Chemical Engineering from Nnamdi Azikiwe University (NAU) Awka, having graduated in the year 2014. She’s a professional member of QRSM International on International Occupational Safety and Health. She had her compulsory One year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) with the Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON) where she made Significant contributions She has had working experience in the following sectors: Telecommunications, Manufacturing & Education before joining the employment of GACON LTD.
She believes that excellence is a habit and whatever you’ve got to do, give your best to it.
Chinyere Ottah is a Second Class Upper graduate of Economics from the University of Lagos. She graduated in the year 2018 before joining the Employment of GACON GROUP. She had over four years working experience as an auditor within the finance industry.
Chinyere is a Finance Executive, and works with the Chief Finance Officer of the organization in respect of the following; Customer Invoicing and payment tracking., Freight payable, Agency Commissions, Customers accounts reconciliations, Regulatory Agencies periodic documentations, returns & fillings.
She is a Student Member of Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria, ICAN.
Stanley Uzoagba is the Team Lead of the Export Desk of GACON LTD – The logistics, forwarding and goods shipment arm of the Organization’s business.
Stanly is a product of Imo State University, Owerri. He holds a B.Sc in Education Accounting, having graduated in the year 2017.
He joined the employment of the company in the year 2020 and within a short time mastered his schedule. Stanley has successfully coordinated the activities of the unit and brings speed and dexterity into his job accomplishments.
Assisting Stanley Uzoagba in the Export Desk Unit is Adeleke Adejumo. Adeleke holds an HND in Accountancy from the Federal Polytechnic Offa Kwara State, having graduated in the year 2019.
With little or no experience at the point of joining the organisation’s workforce, Adeleke has become an ardent committed, result oriented and unassuming staff.
He is a resource to the Export Unit of the Organization.
Heading the PROCESSING arm of the Operations Unit at the Company’s sustainability Center & Regional Office in Kano is Aisha Yahaya. Aisha is a 2017 graduate of Agricultural Science from Bayero University, Kano. She has MSc. in same faculty of the University. She underwent HACCP certification training with NICERT and worked with them as a contract staff, before moving over to GACON Limited.
Aisha is in charge of handling, processing, packaging, warehousing as well as dispatch of the company’s various lines of product at the Regional center office. Aisha is a focused, result oriented, unassuming and diligent in the execution of her duties.
Aisha is working with a Compliance Team made up of six University Graduates that are helping in upscaling the company’s handling and processing standards and GACON Ltd’s six product lines, that are HACCP Certificated.
Leading the company’s Kafanchan Operational is Prosper Onwusoanya. Prosper is a 2017 Upper Credit Mechanical Engineering Graduate of The Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerrri.
He oversees all GACON interest activities in Kafanchan, Southern Kaduna, these activities include product aggregation and purchasing,
Coordination of the Group’s GIMS (GACON INPUTS & MICRO CREDIT SCHEME), Supply chain activities as it relates to GACON Kafanchan operations. Supporting Prosper in the execution of his role is a Team of four graduates involved as supply chain and extension officers that liaise with the BOP Farmers Cooperatives for their farm health and needs.
Stella Akintalabi studied Office Technology and Management from Lagos State Polytechnic, Lagos. She graduated in the year 2019.
Stella joined the employment of GACON shortly after her NYSC service year in 2019. With little or no practical experience at the point of joining, she has quickly learnt on the job, adapted to her roles and has a passion for unlearning and learning new things that will help in the performance of her schedule. Stella has benefited from both internal and external trainings towards enhancing her job performance.
Stella is the Human resource Executive of the Company, handles Human Resources matters as well as doubling as Personal Assistant to the GMD.
Heading the Compliance Unit of the Organization is Tolulope Ogunniyi. Tolulope is a 2018 B.Sc. graduate of Botany from Bayero University, Kano. She is an MSc, in Plant Ecology from same faculty of her alma Mata University.
She is in charge of the ethics and compliance in the handling and processing of the company’s products. She underwent HACCP certification training with NICERT and worked with NICERT as a contract staff, before joining the employment of GACON Limited. Tolulope is a focused and committed young lady that is looking to grow with the organization, even as she impacts values on the company’s processes through skills acquired during her training at NICERT.
The Compliance Team of GACON is made up of six graduates and front-line Product Handlers, of which Tolulope has direct responsibility of coordinating their activities and helping in up-scaling the company’s handling, practices and process standard settings for GACON Ltd’s six product lines in tandem with global Food Safety Standards as enshrined in the company’s certifications.
Assisting the Operations Officer is Tajudeen Sufullah. Tajudeen, a Second Class Upper Degree graduate of B.Sc. Botany from the Usman Dan Fodiyo University, Sokoto. He was posted as an NYSC member to GACON LTD in the year 2021 for his primary assignment. During his NYSC period, he distinguished himself based on his dedication to duty and seriousness over schedules assigned to him. At the end of his service year, he was retained by the organization, first as a contract staff and subsequently as a permanent staff.
He has the responsibility of ensuring Operational compliance with GHP standards, overseeing product processing, materials inventory levels and provide transit truck tracking reports amongst other responsibilities. He is focused, committed, proactive & result oriented staff. He is a resource to the Operations unit.
Mr. Benedict holds a B.Tech (Hons) in Business Management from the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Zaria.
Like Tajudeen, he was posted as an NYSC member to GACON LTD in the year 2021 for his primary assignment. During his NYSC period, he distinguished himself based on his dedication to duty and seriousness over schedules assigned to him. At the end of his service year, he was retained by the organization, first as a contract staff and subsequently as a permanent staff.
He was redeployed to Kafanchan office of GACON GROUP as a Supply Chain Officer & GIMS Co-ordinator responsible for setting up and management of the Company’s Co-operative farmers, market research on fresh and dried split ginger, management of GIMS & input allocations to farmers as well as extension visit to farmers on GAP implementations. He is a hardworking young man with a mindset of providing reliable solutions on his schedule.
Deborah holds a Second Class Upper Degree in Accounting. Haven obtained her BSc from the Federal University Oye, Ekiti in 2021, before joining the Group’s employment in April 2023, did her NYSC in an Audit firm in Ogun State.
She has the responsibility of posting the company’s financial transaction using her accounting software and oversight function of the organization’s various unit’s cash accounts.
Deborah is focus, quick to learn and an ardent policy implementer.
Ijeoma holds a BSc in Accounting from Bayero University Kano. Having graduated with Second Class Upper Division in the year 2019, she had a brief stint in the health sector, employment wise before joining the services of GACON GROUP.
She has the responsibility of handling, managing and documenting weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual closing of all financial transactions at the GACON Kano Regional office in Kano. On her Admin schedule, she attends to staff welfare & environmental duties, assets management and act as a point of contact for GACON Kano employees by providing administrative support. She is a highly coordinated, focused, ethical and result oriented staff who is looking to grow with the organization.
