The Gum Arabic Company Nigeria Limited (GACON LIMITED) started export operations in 1996 as an Agribusiness company specializing in the Export of various Agricultural Commodities, Herbs and Botanicals worldwide. Our mission is to Source, Process and Supply best quality materials to her teaming customers at the best possible prices, while ensuring that products offered are wholly Natural products. GACON LTD’s flagship products include Fresh and Dried split ginger, Dried split Turmeric, Dried hibiscus flower (full flower and siftings), Gum Arabic of all grades, Hot chili Pepper, Cassia Tora Seeds, Dried Kolanuts and Prosopis Juliflora. Over the years, GACON Ltd had developed a global customer base which includes reputable Manufacturing, Processing and Trading companies in the United States, Britain, Germany, India, Russia, Bulgaria, Central America, France, Italy, etc.

Overview Of Gacon Ltd’s Journey In Agricultural Commodities Business

During the period, GACON was just a Local supplier of Agro commodities (Gum Arabic, Coco, Cashew nuts, Chillies, Dried Split Ginger, Peanuts, Shea nuts, Dried Hibiscus Flower) to overseas Exporters in Nigeria.

Commenced Gum Arabic export to France and after several trial had a turnover of $160,000 in the first year of operation

Expansion of export base to several oversea countries like United States, Britain, Belgium, Netherlands, China, Italy, Germany, France, Russia, Chile and India

During this period the two major promoters of GACON LTD, Chidume & Adaku took up Public Service assignment for their Fatherland. This diversion into public service put attention pressure on the business, causing GACON Ltd to have a lull in her Export activities.

Through international market penetration, Human Capital Development, New strategies and majorly concentrating on three flagship products namely Dried Split Ginger, Dried Hibiscus Flower and Gum Arabic, the company started getting a new lease of life.

• This period is witnessing Training, Retraining, upskilling, Upscaling, capacity building of the company’s human capital, Building local and international partnership, Further market penetration, International Certifications of all her Export Products, Mechanizing, upgrading and modernizing of production Facilities, technology and adaptation to processes towards improve Food Safety consistent with International Food Safety Standards. This is consistently and steadily driving global acceptance and demand for GACON LTDS lines of Export Products.
