🚨 Emergency and Recovery Intervention Launch by Ginger Blight Epidemic Control Taskforce! 🌱

Recently, a significant step was taken to combat the devastating ginger blight epidemic in Southern Kaduna and Jos. The event featured key addresses from Hon. Murtala Dabo (Commissioner of Agriculture), Engr. Abubakar Abdullahi (Director, Federal Ministry of Agriculture & Food Safety), and Mrs. Marion Moon (Technical Assistant on Agriculture, Office of the Vice President).

Key Highlights:
– Emergency Funds & Support: National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF) introduced a ₦1.6 billion support fund, providing essential inputs like fertilizers, seedlings, and fungicides to affected farmers.
– Ginger Blight Awareness: Training and resources were emphasized to help farmers tackle this crisis early and effectively.
– Presidential Commitment: The Presidency expressed strong support, viewing farmers as partners in reviving Nigerian ginger’s global market status.

A heartfelt appreciation to all stakeholders, including President Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani’s administration, for their swift response to this crisis. Special thanks to the Kaduna State government and NADF for their intervention efforts.

The program concluded with the distribution of Urea fertilizers, NPK fertilizers, a bag of seedlings, herbicides and fungicides as a complete package to 32 validated ginger farmers, marking the beginning of a broader outreach across communities.
